The field guide / 01 — project scope

What shapes the cost of a cinematic website?

A world designed around your story is a custom production. Here is what belongs in a thoughtful quote.

Read the guide

A cinematic website is a custom production: a story, artwork, animation and a website that brings them together. The useful starting point for a quote is what the experience needs to accomplish and what must be created to make it work.

At 3DScroller, each project is scoped around its story, scenes, supplied material and website requirements. There is no published fixed price or delivery promise here. A project conversation establishes the deliverables, schedule and quote before production begins.

Start with one clear visitor action

Does your visitor need to request a tour, explore a product, ask about a service or continue to an existing booking page? That decision shapes the story and the website around it. A focused campaign page can have a different scope from a broader business website with several services and integrations.

The world has to be made

Your logo, photographs, product images and creative direction give the production a starting point. We develop the artwork and storyboard with you, then create animated scenes and their transitions. The number of scenes, visual detail and movement affect the work involved. A longer film is not automatically a clearer sales message.

Useful material reduces uncertainty. Bring existing assets and tell us which are approved for use. If references are incomplete, the scope needs to include developing and reviewing a visual direction rather than assuming it already exists.

A phone needs its own composition

Desktop and phone have different shapes. We plan those compositions separately so important scenery, text and calls to action fit. Compare proposals on what is delivered for each device, not simply whether the website is described as responsive.

Integration and launch are part of the scope

A cinematic page can be planned around an existing website, including WordPress. Your platform, hosting, inquiry process and destination links need to be reviewed before the integration is agreed. Product browsing, checkout, booking and other workflows each have their own requirements; a cinematic introduction does not replace that planning.

Also ask how copy, approvals, revisions, testing and ongoing care are included. Those terms belong in the agreed scope. They should not be assumed from an attractive showcase.

Bring a short brief, not a finished screenplay

Tell us about your business or project, who the experience is for, what visitors should do next and when you hope to launch. Include your existing website and the brand material you can supply. If you have a working budget, sharing it helps define a practical conversation.
